sometimes I'll save an image under the tag, "love this." This is one of them....

I hope your holiday weekend has you constantly saying, "love this..."

House and Garden

Dream laundry rooms, for sure. Although mine won't look like these, a master bath/closet/laundry renovation is in the near future for me. But I have not heard good things about front loading washers. One friend says, "Nothing but trouble..." Another says she has to leave the door to her washer open when not in use, or the rubber gaskets will have an odor. I also remember Dooce's high-profile dilemma over a new front load washer that never really worked properly....

OK you guys - let's hear it.  Do you have front loads? Do you love it? Recommend it? or....NOT?

art wall chic

I'm sharing an obsession over art walls with Ally of From the Right Bank. She has two great posts about these here and here. I saw this image on thirteen and south recently and loved the unique gallery wall style. This whole room is so chic. The way the photos/art pieces are hung - level at the top of the first row, and level at the bottom of the second - has a stunning effect, don't you think...?

stoned in my garden...

this one really doesn't qualify. it's new-ish. terra cotta with a stone finish over the top. still love it. I grew some rye grass in a bunch of french terra cotta pots I bought at auction several years ago....

now this one? this babe is my favorite. he's got a little age on him. and he's just starting to green up a little for the season...

geez...this close-up makes me love him even more. what a sweetheart...
I might have to put this image on my side bar. is it wrong to love a piece of stone so...?

this dude holds a scalloped shell over his head with both hands. friends have used him at parties and receptions to hold large flower arrangements. in my garden, dude just holds a fern....

this little man is on the mantle of the outdoor fireplace. he's also new-ish. I made him a little greenery wreath as a headpiece. he probably hates me for it...

and....amelia's head
one of my son's rowdy friends rammed amelia with his bike. she fell backwards and her head rolled off... I couldn't bear to part with it....
is that a bug on amelia's cheek? poor amelia, no hands to swat it with.....
