did I mention I like mirrors...?

have a great weekend! donna

fresh

Looks simple. But it's not.
Combining old/vintage and new/fresh. It's what I try hardest to do - I love the look. But sometimes it just escapes me.

I thought this fresh, over-dyed rug was perfect with the gray antique piece. So simple.
Have you had any luck with mixing old and new in your home?

how pinteresting

It's spring.  I should be loving light and airy interiors. Instead, I'm all over these dark and moody rooms today. What gives?

karina gentinetta's vintage interiors

I was so happy to see the home of antiques dealer and blogger Karina Gentinetta featured in this month's Southen Living Magazine. Do you remember when I featured her home here last July? I think it looks refreshingly undecorated

Check it out.

And have a great weekend...donna

the wow factor

I'm a firm believer that the most interesting decor pieces come from thrift and antique stores. I love mixing vintage with new things, but I'll take patina and quirkyness over new and mass-produced any day. Every day.

But could I please just catch a break like this....? The painting pictured above was purchased recently for $3 from a Goodwill store less than an hour from my home. Last Saturday, the painting sold for $190,000 at auction. Geez. Turns out it's a Flemish piece from around 1650.

Nice to know this does really happen. Now, if I could only have it happen to me...
