stoned in my garden...

this one really doesn't qualify. it's new-ish. terra cotta with a stone finish over the top. still love it. I grew some rye grass in a bunch of french terra cotta pots I bought at auction several years ago....

now this one? this babe is my favorite. he's got a little age on him. and he's just starting to green up a little for the season...

geez...this close-up makes me love him even more. what a sweetheart...
I might have to put this image on my side bar. is it wrong to love a piece of stone so...?

this dude holds a scalloped shell over his head with both hands. friends have used him at parties and receptions to hold large flower arrangements. in my garden, dude just holds a fern....

this little man is on the mantle of the outdoor fireplace. he's also new-ish. I made him a little greenery wreath as a headpiece. he probably hates me for it...

a bird bath near the oakleaf hydrangea

new blooms...

pods on the forest pansy redbud trees...

and....amelia's head
one of my son's rowdy friends rammed amelia with his bike. she fell backwards and her head rolled off... I couldn't bear to part with it....
is that a bug on amelia's cheek? poor amelia, no hands to swat it with.....

Okay, I cracked up at, "Is it wrong to love a piece of stone so?"
I love this sort of thing, I have a couple pieces of stone I love myself. We have conversations when no one is around ;-)

Love all the statuary...especially poor Amelia! Your garden looks gorgeous...

btw - Your textured wall post inspired me to do a post about my beloved, no longer in existence, glue walls, something you just don't see that often!

I love how there are nudes everywhere in your life!! :)
I mean, Amelia isn't directly nude.. but you know what I mean.

I love the 'fern holding dude' and can see how he would have been the center of attention (xuse the pun) at many great parties!!

Lovely post my dear! Have missed you whilst I was away!
