Things really are only worth what someone is willing to pay for them. Would I pay that much for photos and a book....modern design, no. Love the image of that zebra rug drapped one the sofa and floor.
Holy cow!! Are you serious?? I have every issue neatly stacked under my bed. If my husband sees this post he may sell them. Me? No way. I still love looking at them. I swear the Ebay world has gone crazy!!
I just de-cluttered by library shelves, a whole section of them full of neatly filed years of Victoria and Martha Stewart magazines (maybe 5 years worth each). I know it's different from Domino issues, but after not having had the time to open more than a couple of issues in the past many years, I finally decided to give them all way to women's centers and provincial libraries. I was so sad, but now feel so much lighter and free-er. (I wish they were pounds off me as well! :)
hmm...i can say that i would have a hard time parting with them for only $300, but paying that? i might have to stick to the generous flickr collections out there.
Well, I still have tons of my Domino mags and also Cottage Living. LOVE THEM! Your first dining room photo is my screen saver. Love love that room. Actually purchased two of the VP chairs for my home. They are so unexpected in homes in my area! Maybe someone will do an online E-zine like Domino and/or Cottage Living with a modern twist. I miss those guys!
Hmm...I liked Domino a lot but never subscribed. I really miss that magazine though and I always think maybe they'll come back. I do have years and years of traditional home, Veranda, Southern Accents and House Beautiful stored away though.
I'm with Quintessence...I have magazines hidden all over this house and my lake house too. Never dreamed they might be worth something to anyone but me.
I think I threw all mine out last year...just too much clutter. I used to save all my old magazines but one day I just started pitching and it was freeing.
$300..no..because I can just go to brides.com and there they are. (the magazine is in the process of downloading all the issues for storage and viewing on the site) They are doing it SLOWLY...but at least they had the where-with-all to save them!...k
i think i have most of the issues... they are worth a lot to me as i refer to them often for design ideas... i have MANY issues of House and Garden..will never part with them either... I have a lovely cabinet that i "house" them in!
You know, they just may just be, as I would consider my collection priceless. Couldn't part with, not yet anyway. Still have some issues wrapped in plastic un-opened. Ended up getting 2 subscriptions with the demise of a previous magazine.
My Gift Guides and Retail Therapy posts may contain some affiliate links. This means I may receive a small commission on sales thru this blog. Your cost is NOT affected. I only link to items which I would love to own or do already own. Any commission I earn allows me to keep up the gray goodness...so, thank you for your support! Donna

How tempting!!
If only I wasn't in a 'shedding mode' (in light of the move).. I could so see myself giving the Domino family and book a home here..!

Wow. The whole set (and book) for under $300? I would expect it to go for lots more!!!

Just read Sissy's comment...too funny! I wish I had every issue, but I wouldn't pay $300...where would I put them all?:)
Wow, that is surprising! I have most of my issues less one or two and I can say I would not part with them for $300!
I think $300 seems like a pretty good price actually!
I guess it's all a matter of supply and demand. Are they the modern day baseball cards?

Miss Domino and love this post! Love the zebra and the sideboard in the first image.
Hope that your week is off to a great start, Donna.

It actually tempts me. I'm kind of surprised that publisher hasn't offered a full collection in a digital format. I know I'd buy it.

that is funny--I was thinking the other day how priceless my Domino, CL and Country Home issues are. I say totally worth that. Still nothing compares
wow! i've never been one to collect magazines, but that seems like quite a bit to pay.
absolutely love the first image, beautiful room!
my first reaction was "MORE". but now that I can get all the design-porn I wish on the internet, I am seriously paring back on my mag collections.
I think I threw all mine out last year...just too much clutter. I used to save all my old magazines but one day I just started pitching and it was freeing.
I LOVE my magazines...although a certain someone in my house does NOT! But he would FLIP if I spent $300 on old issues.

I think you can still buy the book on Amazon?

wow, if there's money in back issues of mags (no domino's though down here in oz) then i must be a very rich woman!
I'd buy up the old Cottage Living mags, for sure! Domino, I miss it, too.

And I am getting rid of all of mine! I need less stuff at home.(But scanning all my favorites). The book is a must have.
Warm hugs to you Donna.

I sold several sets for friends as well as my own complete set on ebay over a year ago and they got well over $300.
