my hat's off to you...

a little progress in our master bath

...you fearless design bloggers who have the courage and confidence to blog about your own homes. I have even more respect for you after contemplating blogging my master bath re-do. Will it be good enough? What will they think? What will they say? Thanks to all of you who have gone before and given us all such treats.

We are slowly coming along. I am in love with my calcutta gold marble shower floor. Last fall, I found a great vintage french chest at Scott's Antique Market in Atlanta which will be made into the vanity. Here are two drawers from the chest. I really like the pulls and the sweet blue and cream paper lining. Our home was built in the early 1940's so having an older piece in the new bathroom is going to give the feel I want.

Not much else to show right now. Did I mention progress was slow?

Now I just need to choose a gray for the walls.....that should be easy, right????

Oh, yeah, it "should" be easy. But if you're one of us, like the us who worries over every single detail...it's never easy. But in the end it's always perfect.

I agree with you. Showing your own home on your blog takes nerves of steel.

Having said that, I have no doubt you'll pull it all together AND find the perfect grey.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the floors! You have been building up to this point with finding "a perfect grey", right?...I am sure when you put it on the walls the angels will sing:):) It will be gorgeous...and you BETTER show the end result:)

I know I'm liking what I see. All the time and though you put into your rooms will give you the outcome you desire. I'm sure that the beautiful antique piece wasn't just something you scooped up randomly, it looks to me like you waited until you got a piece that would bring a smile to your face whenever you enter the bathroom. It's going to be beau-ti-ful!

Donna, you have a great eye and great taste...so you have to know we'll all love the final result.

In the meantime...there seem to be a wave of "gray" everywhere. All the new decor stores I'm seeing are all about color colors and lots of gray. You were just ahead of the curve.

Good luck with the finishing touches!
