I've professed my love of tarnished silver before. I have one or two old silver trays, nothing fine, but I'd never thought to hang them until I saw these photos. I like the way they look against the white wall.
I just pinned this image the other day! I love the mix of trays and how they are hung floor to ceiling. What a great impact in such a small space! Thanks for sharing!
Wow - I've found somebody else who likes tarnished silver! I picked up a beautiful old engraved silver tray at a second-hand shop, and inherited a silver candlestick from my grandmoth. Both are very tarnished and my mother spent a long time carefully explaining to me how to clean them properly. Unfortunately for her, I much prefer them looking old and tarnished! '
Love the idea of hanging the tray on the wall too!
i saw this picture on joni's blog and saved them immediately. i love the idea. of course that whole house made me lightheaded it is so gorgeous. but the silver trays on the wall is just gorgeous.
Like everyone else, I love everything about this picture. Whenever a tray is needed, it can simply be borrowed from the wall display: pretty and practical.
These trays are beautiful, they look great on the wall, love silver. I'm thinking of collecting silver jars with wood and horn handles, I'm absolutely fascinated by these beauties. Hugs Tereza
you reminded me of some of the boxes i have in storage in seattle. they have been there since 2002..wow. one has many silver trays i picked up along the way.....nothing fancy, but abundant nonetheless. when i get back to seattle to move the balance of my things, i am going to send you some trays...you need a wee collection for your walls.
Maybe you could use heavy duty velcro... if you used plate hangers wouldn't they stick out from the wall?? These look like they are flat on the wall. What do you think?

Finally, a reason to throw away the silver polish (not that I ever use it!) Hope you are well, Donna!!!
Donna I agree this is a fun way to display old beauties!! kathysue
if not used for food service, silver trays look wonderful in their verdigris state on dressers or tables as well as on the wall.
What a great "art installation".....I love silver trays of all sorts and this is a great way to enjoy them everyday!!!

I am also envious of those rustic beams...

Lovely. I love the colour combo
I like this idea - mainly because it means I don't have to polish any silver ..... :D
Beautiful - and love the beams & white washed kitchen cabinets!
how do you hang them?
Anon 11:47, I think you could use regular plate hangers to hang trays. Let me know if you try it...
