several weeks ago in an antique shop off the beaten path, I found a sweet little chaise with great french legs but awful upholstery. why, oh why didn't I buy it right then?
when I went back for it last week?
gone.

Yep, still thinking about the one that got away from me four years ago!
Oh you poor thing! I know exactly that feeling, sometimes it pays to be impulsive! I do hope that another even better comes along for you. Warmest wishes from an old farmhouse - Glenda xxx
I know that feeling. Hopefully you'll find another one soon!
I hate when that happens !
Oh, Donna, I feel your pain. That is the WORST feeling. Call me if you need to commiserate - I have a long list of things that got away!

I can relate. I still mourn the tian bowl that got away twenty odd years ago.

I wish you had gotten it. There is an old adage that went around the show world "last touched, first bought". It means if someone looked at and appreciated an object the aura lingers and the next observer feels it. Perhaps that also accounts for those things we bring home and then think "why did I buy that?"
You always have to trust your gut and buy it when you see it! I love the smocking on the curtain........a unique detail!

The Smocked Curtain just might have been made by us! Great to see it on a beautiful blog. Made my day!
Thanks
