Virginia Woolf’s bedroom
Annie Leibovitz,  Pilgrimage

For the past few days I have been immersed in preparing for a presentation about famous portrait photographer Annie Leibovitz. I didn't realize that she has also photographed landscapes and interiors for her new book Pilgrimage. I loved this photo of the bedroom of writer Virginia Woolf.  It's so utilitarian and spare, and with the blue cast, so moody and beautiful.

I adore Ms.Leibovitz's work and her landscapes are amazing - I love the one's of the catskills - which is near and dear to my heart. I think there is sort of a deliverance to them.
That room is amazing. Moody!!!

Now I'm curious about what you do Donna? I didn't know Annie Leibovitz did landscapes I'll have to look them up.

That room is so striking and emotional! I love the textures of everything -- and the paintings!

I don't think Annie did landscapes until now!

Is that right?

Wonderful!

What a lovely post!

I have always found Virginia Woolf to be fascinating. Something deep and reflective beneath her austere appearance and manner.
Her writing reflected that and Ms. Leibovitz captures the mood in this photograph.

I've never seen a shot of Virginia's bedroom...it's wonderful, love how she layered the things she loved...and I believe those walls are somewhat gray, don't you?!
