in a dream world

I'm still living in a fantasy about tents and tepees. Then, Boom! Saw this from anthropologie.

It's only $9,000.

Surely someone out there is a miracle worker with a sewing machine, canvas drop cloths, and a few lengths of bamboo....

anybody....?

In truth I can't see why it is so expensive Donna - you can get plain canvas Sunbrella for less than $10 a yard - I guess the frame would be more challenging but it isn't rocket science...

Now where would we pitch it?

Love this! I am having a tent thing right now too!
Last week I asked if we could set up a tent in the backyard and campout...Hubby said go for it but count me out for overnight!
Oh well! I still love them and this one is super cute!

I love Anthropologie.

Sometimes it's bananas bad (see above) and sometimes it's bananas good. But it's never boring.

I think we might know someone who could whip this up in no time! ;)

Ahh gosh, that's amazing! almost as amazing as the price tag. if you find anyone willing to make anything similar, see if they'd be willing to make me one too..?

Leave it to Anthropologie!

Ah, Anthropologie. Wonderfully inspiring, frightfully (and inexplicably) expensive.

You're absolutely right -- a few canvas drop-cloths -- along w/a sewing machine and some bamboo poles, etc. -- would serve very nicely to recreate this sublime retreat. And at a tiny fraction of that ridiculous pricetag!

Oh I love a good tent. Not the kind that you pick up at a trekking store but this kind that is built for dreaming.
I spent many hours in a wonderful teepee tent as a young girl. I hosted tea parties for my barbies, friends and would lay around pondering life's great questions and mysteries. It was wonderful!

There is a girl in Australia (Robyn) who makes wonderful teepee and playhouse tents. I am sure you could commission her for something like this.
Her company is 'Banana J Creations' http://www.bananajcreations.com.au/about_me_22.html

Good luck!
