My in-laws in Rome live in a 1920s building with stairs just like the second image. And their elevator - don't get me started! The first time I visited them my eyes just popped out of my head lol! How odd I must have seemed. Luckily, they understood as they had bought their apartment many decades ago when these types of building were not very fashionable. So lovely.
Love the carpet pattern in the first photo. It could easily be done with mosaic tile or a painted floor as well. I'm going to have to catalog that for future reference.
I've had that first image bookmarked since I started designing my new client's home! I love the simplicity of the balustrade punched up with that fabulously graphic runner! Love how high contrast flooring makes all the difference. Beautiful post!
Would love to get your thoughts on my most recent hotel renovation when you get a chance! Hope to see you soon!
Love these pics!!!! I have a center staircase that winds down 3 floors and it is always fun to look down! But, that first stair runner is such a stunner...it makes me want to update mine!
omg - your blog is gorgeous!!! ive just had such fun looking at it. when are you going to show your bathroom? maybe i missed it, but i saw a few pics of the sink and would love to see more. its beautiful!!

Wow. I think I actually have that last image pinned already but need to grab the other two. They make me slightly dizzy, but in a good way!

Very striking! And very M.C. Escher like. I could spend a whole week photographing all 3.

Those stairs look so familiar, but how could they be? This will keep me wondering for days. Come see me, something wild going on at Splenderosa. xx's
