I'm going to chill out about my curtains. Some of these vary from wrinkled to ratty and still look oh so chic.

Thank you so much! What a lovely gift!!!
What a brilliant post!!
Your post is so great.....and your always, also great!
My opinion:
Never, never , never (in my opinion, worry about "ratty curtains"!!

I was so lucky to go on several "Sotheby's decorating tours....(led by Jessica Deutsch); where we went into fab private houses in England, New Orleans, "Gold Coast" of Long Island, Hamptons.....Long Island!
Penthouses in NYCity! WOW!!!

Curtains that were not starting to disintegrate.....were way too "nouveau"!! Seriously. Falling apart. I LOVE it!

we love "age"; and we love "patina"!!

Thank you for this brilliant post!!

ps oh please......can we banish the word "drapes" when speaking about "curtains"?? Oh please instruct your readers! (You simply must!)!! Thank you in advance!!!

I love this left me thinking!

What I love about windows (most of the time) is the views out of them!
Grey curtains invite your eye to go out and see the view!

There is always some shade of gray in the landscape; or even the leaves nearby the window! Grey is the perfect neutral in so many ways!

Hence the title of your blog!! And all of your posts!

I agree!

The grey curtains accentuate the look of the room to a greater high. It gels well with the decor. Just amazing!

I think all the rooms look great, really elegant and serene. Must admit a lot of the grey schemes seem to include hints of gold and the two colours work brilliantly together, resulting in a warm, homely yet elegant feel.

I am fascinated with the emergence of French design this past year. It is so beautiful and understated when placed in a room finished so nicely with the chalk white and gray paint palettes. Thank you as always for sharing so many beautiful rooms. Beauty surrounds us!
