I was so lucky to go on several "Sotheby's decorating tours....(led by Jessica Deutsch); where we went into fab private houses in England, New Orleans, "Gold Coast" of Long Island, Hamptons.....Long Island! Penthouses in NYCity! WOW!!!
YIKES!!!
Curtains that were not starting to disintegrate.....were way too "nouveau"!! Seriously. Falling apart. I LOVE it! Patina!

ps oh please......can we banish the word "drapes" when speaking about "curtains"?? Oh please instruct your readers! (You simply must!)!! Thank you in advance!!!
I think all the rooms look great, really elegant and serene. Must admit a lot of the grey schemes seem to include hints of gold and the two colours work brilliantly together, resulting in a warm, homely yet elegant feel.
I am fascinated with the emergence of French design this past year. It is so beautiful and understated when placed in a room finished so nicely with the chalk white and gray paint palettes. Thank you as always for sharing so many beautiful rooms. Beauty surrounds us!
My Gift Guides and Retail Therapy posts may contain some affiliate links. This means I may receive a small commission on sales thru this blog. Your cost is NOT affected. I only link to items which I would love to own or do already own. Any commission I earn allows me to keep up the gray goodness...so, thank you for your support! Donna

I'm going to chill out about my curtains. Some of these vary from wrinkled to ratty and still look oh so chic.

I love this post......it left me thinking!
What I love about windows (most of the time) is the views out of them!
Grey curtains invite your eye to go out and see the view!
There is always some shade of gray in the landscape; or even the leaves nearby the window! Grey is the perfect neutral in so many ways!
Hence the title of your blog!! And all of your posts!
I agree!
Totally love each one.
The grey curtains accentuate the look of the room to a greater high. It gels well with the decor. Just amazing!
