You might remember from earlier posts here and here that I love the human figure as art. One night recently as I was cooking supper, I glanced in our dining room and saw the setting sun making some nice patterns on the three toddler dress forms I bought at an antique shop years ago. The toddler shapes were so unusual that I couldn't resist them. After some searching, I found just the right welder to make stands for each of them and they now live in our dining room. One snowy day this past winter, I made the lock and key wraps for their necks. They're an off-beat touch; just the kind of thing I love.

So much personality is added to the room through these - thanks for sharing your image of them!
Seriously odd .. but the more I looked at them, the more I thought 'cool'. Nice idea (-:
I love colour & style choices.
i love dress forms also. This is a wonderful picture. xo Joan@anythinggoeshere
We are kindred spirits for sure. I have at least 6 dress forms/mannequins and they are among my favorite things in the house. I've even named each one appropriately according to how it looks.
I just love your key creations for them!!
Those photos you took would make great blank cards, by the way! :)
Thanks for sharing the mannequin family! :)

your offbeated-ness clicks with mine ... like our vintage hearts beat at the same time.
Very cool. I have an old paper mache form that I love.
I really enjoy them in the pairing of three and those old keys are just fab!
How's that mantel display coming along? I think I may have found a piece for above my sofa :) Made me think of you...
Donna, they are fabulous. And the lock & keys wraps give them even more personality! I love seeing glimpses of your home!
These dress forms are so unique - what a statement they make. I love it!
I do love dress forms, however my daughter hates them in the house as she jumps everytime she sees them.
I think you did a wonderful job in turning them into art forms. How did you think of that?
I've been looking for one of these my self. I want a dress form that I can cover in funky fabric as a decor piece. They are so $$$!
You are amazingly creative.
These are amazing, Donna, you are so clever! What a cool find!
Love these! I have a sewing form tucked away in the corner of my dining room on top of some old hat boxes... I've put my grandmother's Greek worry beads around her neck. I think we've both got the same idea. Love your lock and key wraps. Such a cool addition!
I must confess that they scare me a little..but I think you are fabulous and I really love your style. I would do anything to see your home. It seems so amazing and full of your creativity!
xx C

happy thursday!

This is beyond COOL! These really tell us so much about your style and home. Lovely! Julie
Perfect!
I find them very charming. As for the necklaces..brilliant. Your style always impresses me. xx
Just saw a dressmaker form in a consignment shop in ATL last weekend. It was among lots of other things yet it really stood out!
I have always wanted a vintage dressform. It does add a quirky but nice touch to a room. I had a friend who had one in her hair salon. Her decor was a Victorian parlor theme and she had a few vintage pins on the form. I always liked that idea.
P.S. I like the key necklaces too.
Thanks for leaving a comment and my blog . . . Mostly because it allowed me to find yours ... Really interesting perspective, fresh & beautiful! Look forward to seeing them all.
Best, Sharon

And thank you for your support & friendship. You are one amazing lady.
Much love, Mon
I truly love your three... my judy hangs out in the corner of our livingroom...
Just makes a quiet statement, just fab for sure.
I like your offbeatedness! These are great!
I wondered about this, as one is your profile image! Love them!! Janell
Love your art form!! They are wondeful and a great conversation piece! Kathysue

Scrolling through some of your old posts and this is my favorite! These are fabulous!! I have regretted selling the dress forms I have had- especially the really old ones . I have two that someone covered in shells a long time ago and I have viewed never to part with them!
