Not everything in the October, 2010 House Beautiful feature of this NYC apartment resonated with me. Some of the mixes of English Country/Indian/Contemporary took me a while to warm to. But when I saw this fabric-covered desk, it was LOVE at first sight. It looks just like my West Elm parsons-style desk.
I am so doing this!

Oh that desk IS a little slice of HEAVEN! No wonder you love it! ;-)
BTW, do you have a Wrangler? I saw one in your sidebar. We just bought a '10 4 door white Wrangler and I'm in LOVE!
Love the mosaic in the second pic. I hope you'll show us your desk when you're finished!
I'm with you: it's not totally my style, but I do appreciate the softness that the pink fabric brings to the space.
Hope you had a lovely weekend, Donna, and thank you for your kind comment yesterday. xo
can't wait to see it when you're done! So glad you had a great time in NYC. Julie
I love it!! Can't wait to see what you do!
Cannot wait to see. Hurry!
I really liked the mix.....it is so integrated and fun. Not stiff or boring at all.

that desk is a show-stopper. i think you should do it so i can see the finished product!
Beautiful! I was not sure what to think of that hippie patterned issue either. Felt a little upscale Domino to me. Like Mother of Domino.

Love the desk! We'd love to see what you end up doing with your desk!

Love your grays-did a post about the color today, and linked to your blog. have a good one!
Oooh, yes! Love this, and unfortunately, so would the kitties! XX!
I see what you mean....sometimes it takes me ages to get into things, usually I'm short of the one to bring it all togehther. Once I found the missing element , it doesn't take long to complete.
I see you have a stone guy too!
It's a very clever idea...love to see your version! xo J~
I'd love to see the Parson's desk redone with textile! It could go into many spaces of a home and look fab!
That fabric desk is very special, but then so is the painted chest of drawers in the first photo.
Thanks for stopping by

About the Wrangler...we traded in a lifted bells and whistles red '96 Wrangler and my 09 Jeep Commander for the '10 4 door Wrangler! But I'm LOVIN the wind in my hair AND the lower car payment and insurance! ;-)
You do it first and then we will all follow after you have worked out the kinks :)
I agree... that fabric covered desk in HB was the best! Can't wait to see what you do.
