inspiration and anxiety....

We are getting started on a master bathroom renovation in our 1940s cape cod home.

I. am. petrified.

Inspiration is all around me; yet getting exactly what I want on a budget is making me lose sleep at night. I expect some anxiety-ridden moments; but a lot of fun and excitement along the way. For me, the real pleasure will come when I'm able to add all the great personal touches at the end.

(Wouldn't make-up brushes look awesome in a few antique silverplate sugar and creamers?)

Wish me luck....

I do wish you luck but I know it will be beautiful! You will do a gorgeous job ... I would love to see some photos and I know you will have the "Perfect Grey"! We painted our ensuite in a grey called Stone Mountain and we were so happy with it. I hope you are well ...

Well you certainly have the inspiration to draw from...I know it is going to be beautiful! Just remember that all of the gorgeous photos that you post everyday had to go through some dust to get to the photograph worthy point.

GOOD LUCK!

Just keep breathing, and play with it a little - if you're spending money you might as well enjoy it!

Over the last I'd say, six years...I had *many* sleepless nights in the designing and building of our house, BUT, those sleepless nights produced something I love and am very proud of, and you will have a master bath that will feel like a second skin because you took so much care in creating it.

There are so many choices...my best advise is to go with your initial gut (most of the time). There might be variations on that gut feeling, and it might have to be massaged a bit, but it will provide you with the most happiness in the long run.

Best, best, best of luck and have fun...it will be wonderful!!!

Good luck Donna. How tricky. My house is part beautiful and part dated as I am afraid of the expense and deciding what I want!! You will do great - keep it classic. You have lovely taste so you will do just fine. And you will know when something is just right. Don't go with anything that doesn't make your heart sing..

Yes! We are swimming in inspiration, yet it is so hard to pull the trigger and make the commitment in our own homes. We have to live with it for a long time so we want it to be classic. I know what it's like to have sleepless nights over this. Good luck, I am sure we will all be amazed at the beauty of your selections:)

I have my makeup brushes in a silver baby cup engraved with my son's initials. It sits on the bathroom windowsill next to the crystal biscuit jar with cotton pads and a smaller crystal bowl with Q-tips. It's maybe the one thing I know for sure that I like in my house.

Good luck with your reno.

So happy to have found your blog. I completely understand how you feel. We are in the middle of a master bath remodel, and I have lost many a night's sleep worrying about the decisions I made or changes I would like to make.

Best of luck! I'm sure whatever you choose to do will be fabulous!
