I have a few silver-leaf frames and love them. BTW that mirror isn't cracked it's just showing its age. Glass used to come only so big way back so they would fit two pieces in place of one and silver the backsides. It's very cool to see the age "crack" in a mirror.
I still think fondly of the two tall silver-gilt mirrors I had made to flank the fireplace in my Regency drawing room in London. You would have loved it Donna - inside, the whole house was quaker gray, with the most beautiful architectural detaining. I didn't bring them to America with me and it was a good decision - they wouldn't have fitted in my rustic cabin~
Hi Donna, I'm loving you blog, as I just bought a townhome with lovely gray walls. You're giving me lots of ideas. I thought of you when I watched Master Piece Theater's Downton Abbey. The grays in the interiors and clothing in this program are gorgeous. If you haven't seen it, you will be in for a feast for your eyes, I believe. -Eve-
I'm loving silver leaf right now too. I just posted on my blog today a picture of two of my favorite silver leaf frames. Oh, and what a spectacular mirror!
My Gift Guides and Retail Therapy posts may contain some affiliate links. This means I may receive a small commission on sales thru this blog. Your cost is NOT affected. I only link to items which I would love to own or do already own. Any commission I earn allows me to keep up the gray goodness...so, thank you for your support! Donna

I ADORE silver leaf - in fact, perhaps more than gold. It has such a soft sophisticated feel. And that mirror - be still my heart!!
