my decor magazines often sit around unopened while I click from design blog to design blog. I think it's because I like the conversation, the discussion we all have together. I like to get your distinct point of view from a blog or a comment.
where do you get your best inspiration? blogs...magazines....books... friends?

ALL of the above, but especially people like you
Blogs and magazines are both favorites for me. I've always loved magazines and enjoy being able to flip through them when I'm away from the computer. And I adore blogs - as you've said the conversation, and a person's interpretation of the design are important to me.
These days, definitely blogs!
(And when I read the magazines, invariably I think about what you all are thinking -- what would so and so say about this???)
Good question!! I have to say blogs and magazines. The problem is there is so much great inspiration these days that I can't make up my mind!! There is something new and shiny everyday...but it is a good problem to have.
YOU are one of my biggest inspirations!! Amazing style and drive! XOC
E. All of the above!:)
I'm with you--love the blogs, good friends and with a bubble bath--my magazines! have a lovely day--HH
Magazines have always been my main inspiration but they've been overtaken by amazing blogs like yours! :)
Love that can of inspiration. So clever. I think it's a combination for me - magazines and blogs mainly with an occasional dose of inspiration coming from an unexpected place.
magazines are probably my favorite. something about curling up with a good read is so dear to me. I do, of course, love blogs for the never ending inspiration, especially when magazines sometimes flop in that department.
Definitely blogs! I never stop being amazed by the latest & greatest inspiration and talent at my finger tips. I love the knowing that I'm not crazy there are people out there who love it as much as I do! Don't get me wrong, I will always remain crazy about a lazy Sunday afternoon curled up with all my favorite magazines too.
houzz.com hands down the best. You can flip through thousands of images in a half an hour and even their search feature is working nicely, if you are looking for just a specific idea. I just can't stand flipping through pages of ads in magazines.
Lately it has been from blogs like you my magazines are left to pile up to the point where I had to buy a basket to dump them in until read.....I'm still working on March..lol.
It used to be magazines but now I am down to only Vanity Fair and Vogue...........but it is definately blogs where I now go for inspiration. It is like reading the same magazine and then havind a conversation, so much better. XO
I feel like I'm receiving a score of new decorating magazines every day when I read the many blogs that pop up on my Google Reader. I am inspired and nudged to create.
My hard-drive failed on the weekend, so no blogs for days until it was replaced.
My magazines were a God-send.
But, these days - blogs are best.
I hate the way magazines hang around in three-dimensional space after I have had my way with them: I think it is tactless~
so blogs all the way!
Donna,
I love the feel of a beautiful magazine, however it is blogs for sure now, the camaraderie between kindred souls is priceless!
I hope you come visit & tell me what you think of my fall decor.....so far!

My inspiration for paintwork comes mainly from the nature.
Love natural colors.
Also from Old Master paintings.

More and more from blogs like yours, and from conversations with my son -- my favorite design buddy.
Best...Victoria
All of the above...and maybe sadly I'm addicted to it. It's like I can't get enough. My heart just starts beating fast when I see an image or new idea that I like. I'm also finding that I'm liking some really different things these days. It's just all fun.
More blogs than magazines lately.....I have started to tear out the pictures I like the best and throw away the magazine. I just don't have the space to keep them anymore!
Oh me too...love the interaction of the blogs and making new friends!
