time? or money?

I found this quote from Elaine Griffin recently while going through some of my old decor magazine tear sheets:

"Time and money are inversely proportinate -
to spend less of one you must always spend exponentially more of the other."

So true, don't you think?

I'm a really big spender of time when it comes to decor.
More fun that way.

What about you?

Unfortunately I'm more about the money right now because I have no time. For the first time I have painters coming in to paint my living and dining rooms something I've always done myself. I want it done and I just don't have enough hours in a day.

I find that , no matter how I plan things, I end up spending more time...even on high budget projects

I'm a big spender of time waiting for money to roll in to pay for the decor.

I don't know if spending big bucks excellerates / shortens a project timeline cause I've been a DIY frugal'ish kind of gal, but I can attest that not spending $$$ certainly requires tons of time to pull off a project. That's a great quote that I have to remember ... thanks for sharing. Robin, happilyhomeafter.blogspot.com

Definitely a spender of time. Partly due to having no money and partly due to how many things I like to DIY. I also find I like decisions the best when I have to think them through.

Even if/when you have money you still have to have the time to watch over whoever is doing the job for you. I am forced to choose time, as money is tight. So, lots of time looking on ebay, reading and figuring out what exactly I want before buying, lots of half empty spaces in my house. I have OCD and this does bother me but I've learned not to throw good money on things I don't love (which I did a lot in my 20s when buying furniture was so novel and exciting). Now I want pieces which I can pass on to my children (so they can sell them if they wish). All of this makes for much time spent and much waiting. Oh well.
Love your blog btw, you have wonderful taste.

No! No! No! It's true that lack of time or lack of money are problems (and lack of both is a BIG problem!), but the eye is paramount. I would hate to leave that out of the equation.

I'm a huge spender of TIME as well, with not much $ to work with, but my taste is expensive, so BIG DILEMMA.

I thought this was such a great question and I have been thinking it over. In my younger days it was time over money and I never thought I would say it but these days I am more than willing to pay to get something done right and get it done quickly. Is that what happens as we get old and tired?
