vintage christmas ornaments

My husband wasn't exactly thrilled when I lugged home a vintage 1950s tinsel Christmas tree a few years ago, but I fell in love with it. I've been collecting old glass ornaments for it ever since.

It really makes my holidays.
I keep threatening to make it our ONLY tree.
But I haven't won that one.
Yet...

Donna, we went antiquing this past Sunday and I almost bought a vintage silver tinsel tree in Pennsylvania!! It was the perfect tabletop size. Too far to drive back. Your tree and vintage ornaments really speak to me ~ j'adore! --Loi

That's my kind of tree! No tinsel here but I have been collecting vintage ornaments for the past few years. I think they are my favorites. You've got some great ones here!

You have wonderful vintage ornaments - I think I have that exact first one. We decorate our tree tonight so I'm hoping to do a post next week featuring our vintage ornaments. Merry Christmas!

I love your tree!
I was lucky, when I moved to Chicago I rented a house and the owners said anything I find in the basement I could keep (it was filled with items from the previous owner)
well!
Treasure trove. I found heaps of the old glass ornaments! And a few other really awesome items. But the ornaments I love!

Donna, I have a collection of vintage ornaments too. I love that you put them on a tinsel tree. I did a tree one year that I replicated the tree I grew up with at my Grandparents home, aluminum lighted star on top and dripping with silver tinsel and bubble lights. I will have to do that tree again!! Glad you are enjoying yours, Merry Christmas,

Seeing your vintage ornaments just kills me. Two years ago I sold boxes of mine in a garage sale for a few bucks. I'm crying now.
I don't ever see the trees for sale where I am though.

Ha! Great minds.....I saw one at Scott's and almost bought it! When we lived in Miami in the mid 60's we had one.
