small packages...

I have lost my source for these images, but isn't this small kitchen great? So much charm and style. I especially like the wire-front upper cabinets and the old wood shutters. This is a great example of how small spaces are often the most stylish ones.

This kitchen is fantastic, the small details, the wire fronts, the shutters, the tiles and the mixture of old & new. It's an inviting kitchen.
I am wishing you a great day.

"...small spaces are often the most stylish ones"--I wholeheartedly agree! I know so many people that spent every last dime on a huge house and have nothing left to spend on making it a home. That kitchen is darling and full of great inspiration. I'll bet it's very functional to boot.

i'm gonna hunt for some shutters like those. for real.
oh and i wanted to say that compared to my old nyc kitchen and my current sf kitchen, this is cavernous.... ;o)

What a great kitchen! Who cares if it's small; I would entertain dozens of people with a warm, inviting kitchen like that... and I'm sure they wouldn't mind the size either ;)

Fabulous kitchen. I love that it is so small yet packed with wonderful details. I'm in love with those shutters. We just finished a kitchen that we used really old shutters with Eastlake hardware as cabinet doors on the cabinets on either side of the hood. Haven't taken pictures yet but can't wait to share. It is one of my favorite kitchens ever. Great post!!

Hello and sorry for my absence. It's been hard finding my baring again after what happened to Marija.
Am back now and love this kitchen. The wooden shutters are great. Just goes to show how it's always right to mix old with new.
Big hugs.

I am ready to down-size. Seriously. Bigger is NOT better. And maybe I then will get my kichen just the way I like it - light gray and sub tiles!

Love to you ( I am not leaving until next week!)

I have never seen this kitchen. Love that chicken wire and barn shutters! Such a pretty contrast to the glossy tile and shiny appliances.

And, thank you, dear blog friend. You are so kind :)

What a chic kitchen! I often feel most comfortable in smaller homes, and this kitchen would fit the bill! There is just something cozy about a home that is just the right size for your needs. Janell

I remember seeing this on someone's blog, but I can't remember who's. Here is the real estate listing...
http://www.charlestonrealestate.com/find_home/1001481.html
the only reason I remember that it was a Charleston RE listing is that I was reading South of Broad when I originally saw it and imagined the character's home to be like this!

Always refreshing to see a reminder that small can be just as elegant, or even more so, than a large space! This is charming to the max.
