Picture this: really big sections of cardboard covered big holes in the plaster walls. Workers had to break all the fixtures just to make them fit in the wonky room. The plumber spent his weekends working on our bathroom because time there during the week just wasn't enough....
I ran out of the house screaming only to realize that we had no yard.
In my dream, I started sobbing and crying, "We made a mistake! I want my old house back! I want my old house back!"
People, let me tell you. Today I want to wrap my arms around my home and say, "I love you." I grumble and complain about parts of it all the time. And even more often, I wish so much of it was different. But this morning I woke up and realized how much I really love it.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend in the home YOU love...

Ha! Dreams can be very frightening! Your house is adorable and looks so cozy and inviting.
Thanks for this post. It reminded me to appreciate what I have.
dreams can be so revealing!
i, too am feeling grateful for my house today. i'll thank it by giving it a good cleaning!!
have a great weekend.
Hi Donna,
I have that dream ALL tge time. At least twice a month.
Sometimes it's that we let our house slip through our hands and sometimes that we've moved on and I change my mind but can't go back.
People always laugh at me when I tell them but we must be two peas in a dream pod!
So....a picture of your house! Very exciting! (it's lovely!)
can you imagine getting ready in the morning, happening to peer out your window for a glimpse of the world and seeing somebody taking a picture of your house. hahaha you are funny!!
tonight, I think you should dream of a vacation. :-)
What a telling dream! Sometimes it takes a dream to wake us up to how great our reality is. I'm impressed you remembered that much of your dream (mine seem to disappear in an instant) AND that you got outside that early in the morning to snap a photo of your home!
Happy weekend!
Kathy
What an awful dream yet a good reminder of what you already have. You definitely have some anxiety over this redo!
Aw, Honey. I hope tonight's slumber delivers dreams of new houses filled with every perfect detail you've ever wished for.
Oh such a beautiful home!
Have a wonderful weekend, and keep your dreams under control:).

So glad I am not the only one with crazy dreams. And I love your house, so charming!!
We are having parallel dreams!! I just dreamed we sold and moved into some chic condo, only to realize no one else had moved into the building and there were very very few windows! When I realized what I had done I felt huge pangs of regret, trying desperately to figure out a way to sell the new place to return to our old neighborhood!
We had wanted to live in our current hood for so long and tried three times to purchase a home here before it finally worked out. Still must be working out those issues!!
Glad you love your home, it is the best when you know you are where you are supposed to be.
Your house is Beautiful! I love it too!
And, too funny- as, not two weeks ago, I had a dream that was almost identical!
It's all... for the love of a house;)!
happy weekend!

You are so right. We stress way too much over the little things. I'm sure your home is wonderful and I know that your new bath is going to be too. You are just full of so much inspiration. I scan more of your pics than any other blog I follow. Have a great weekend. If you get a chance stop by and see our magazine article that is in At Home this month. I can't tell you how I have stressed over that, and how thankful I am that we could even do it. I think it's we're exposed to so much amazing talent every day that we become intimidated and second guess ourselves. Part of the joys of blogging. Hugs! Mona
I do that quite a bit, when I look at my house for the things I like about it, I see it in a whole different light!!
I love this post. A great send off for the weekend!

OMG Donna, I used to have a similar dream all the time. It felt so real! I used to wake up so happy to still have my home. I think this means we are very connected and content in our homes!!!!
Have a wonderful weekend :)

Oh my gosh what a sweet post. I love your house too, and glad it was all just a dream!

Oh my...I have dreams (nightmares) all the time that I have sold my house and moved to a supposed "better place". I ALWAYS end up crying and wishing that I was back in my old beloved home.I am SO relieved when I wake up. I complain about things around here ...but really....like Dorothy said "There's no place like home". Thanks for putting it so well...have a great weekend...K
A bad dream that wasn't so bad after all...it actually turned out to be a good bad dream! Now you can truly dig into that bathroom and know it's what you really want.
Have a great weekend...

You are too cute! I love that you took a picture of the house at 7.30am!
I can relate to the nightmares. I have them all the time and I wake up in a state.
Your house looks gorgeous. What's not to love..!?!
Have a happy and not-so-spooky Halloween!
Hugs

Loved this post! I think it is great that you woke up (as awful as the dream was) with a new and positive perspective. My recurring dream ... is that I find a room in my house that I didn't know I had - Oh what a great dream this is... I discover I have more room then I thought - another room to decorate, more space to entertain ... and then I wake up! I like your perspective better :)
found your site on del.icio.us today and really liked it.. i bookmarked it and will be back to check it out some more later
