antique engravings

I love a grouping of antique prints or engravings like the one above from Scout Designs.

Here's a set of six engravings in my house; I found them at an antique shop years ago. I thought the blue/gray tones were interesting. I wish I knew more about them.

Your engravings are so beautiful Donna and love those vases too. Sorry I don't know anything about them except I like what you've done with them.

Love them, love them love them. I'm totally about picture groupings or gallery hung walls right now. Love architectural engravings. Just purchased for the shop reproduction 18th century French Farm logs. They are incredible. We are doing the landing for The Symphony Designer House here in Little rock in May and are going to cover one wall with them.

The engravings look great. It's amazing how precise they could draw and create with nothing but a pencil or pen and ink!

Gorgeous Donna. I am a big etching/engraving fan (though I don't really know the difference). I bought three antique etchings in Paris a couple of years back. I am VERY into this look right now.

Hello my friend,

I have 13 etchings very similar to the ones in the first picture. They are from the 18th century and I love them! (I call them "The Egos"!). Got them in Sweden at an auction.

Will never depart from them. They look good in all types of rooms. One of these days I would love to hang them all above a modern sofa. Next house perhaps.

Love to you, Mon

Donna I too love etchings and I have a couple of old time Stockholm waiting for me in Sweden. I can't wait to reunite with them and perhaps have them reframed.

I think the blue/grey ink is significant to determine the age. You can have them valued and analyzed by an authorised art dealer. Perhaps you have an annual 'antiques fair' or similar where you could bring one of them for an instant opinion?

Whether they are worth money or not, they do look fabulous and I am falling deeper and deeper in love with your beautiful home!

Big Swedish hugs to you!

These are beautiful Donna. I was actually at a museum today looking at and learning about the art of engraving...the process fascinated me. These look perfect in your home and lovely next to the mercury glass.
