Ha Ha Hilarious! I know...it is sometimes paralyzing to do it in a new room...but perhaps after a year or so you will think I am bored...what can I do to this room!
I'd do it - if it is a powder room 1/2 bath. Why not? High impact! But I wallpapered my small bath with tub/shower in Imperial Trellis and while it looked amazing, it has not held up well.
I understand your dilemma. I have the same one! I spent a day and half stripping the ugly wallpaper in my powder room 2 years ago and I just painted it but I would absolutely love a really fun pattern in there so I feel your pain. My other dilemma is whether to keep my vintage tile or not. It goes over half way up the wall and is pink with a blue border. It's from 1940 and part of me would love to change it and the other part thinks I shouldn't. Back to wallpaper...you could always try the temporary wallpaper. Saw it on the Nate Berkus show.
I chickened out, too, and went with a dark gray with a lacquer finish --which I think you would love. But the paper in the photo is really beautiful! Jeanne
That's the perfect spot for paper! And it's cheap to have removed if you tire of it. We had our entire master bath stripped, patched, and primed for $300.
Wallpaper your bath. You won't regret it. Other than the inside of a closet, or a tiny entry, it's the most perfect, cheapest, easiest room to wallpaper, and everytime you step into your bathroom, you'll love it. Go for it!
Yessss! A small bath is the perfect place for wallpaper! I want to do my own, but I just can't choose!
If you are nervous, sherwin williams makes a line of non-perminent wallpaper for renters, you just tug on a corner and it comes right off. There are some good options (among the millions)... I think Effortless Style did a post about it and picked out some of the best.
Is it your master where you took down your chinoiserie? I had the opportunity of getting the wallpaper bug out of my system in our guest bath...which meant the master was able to be just painted with tile waiscoting. If there's a paper that speaking to you...if so, go for it...it will be fabulous! xo J~
Don't do it. We just moved into a house that had wallpaper in all the bathrooms and it was hell trying to remove it all. Now i just have a really bad tast. You can do one wall for style but not the whole thing!
You should definitely do it! There are so many large print, beautiful wallpapers out there, perfect for a bathroom space. There are great wallpapers that are now easier to remove, and more breathable for higher moisture areas! Go for it!
Donna, I would totally do it. I think small guest powder rooms are the perfect room to paper usually only taking 4-6 single rolls and I always like to do something really dramatic and make it look like a jewel box. With your love of gray, think charcoal, Smmmmokey!!!! KS
I am just getting ready to do a paper images treatment to my guest bath. Have dreamed of the dayI could tear into a Cabinet of National Curiosities Book and Modge Poge them to the wall. That could happen...
Well....ANYTHING that gorgeous rich black door opens to has to be fabulous! I am in a serious "anything painted black" state of mind but putting that fetish aside...I too love a bold fun print in a powder room and have been eyeing them more than ever! I dont; know that I am brazen enough to try it though in the new house! You first....lol.
Please visit my new blog...less than 2 months old, about the building of our home and my love for design/decor. Would love you to stop by......have a wonderful weekend. www.theenchantedhome.blogspot.com
I've been drawn to the same idea for several years and this week, finally started to do something about it : ) I repainted our powder room and starting today, will stencil a huge damask pattern on the walls. I'm using a sea sponge and stencil brush in order to give it an aged wallpaper look! Not gray this time, but warm golds. I actually won the stencils from a giveaway on Cottage and Vine.... Happy Sunday, xx Suzanne
I absolutely love a small space with fun wallpaper. In my head, I've decorated my entry that I don't own in the house that I don't own with fun wallpaper that I don't own...
My Gift Guides and Retail Therapy posts may contain some affiliate links. This means I may receive a small commission on sales thru this blog. Your cost is NOT affected. I only link to items which I would love to own or do already own. Any commission I earn allows me to keep up the gray goodness...so, thank you for your support! Donna

Do it! I put the Martinique paper up in mine - the Beverly Hills Hotel one, it's crazy and gives me a lift everyday.
I am most definitely wallpapering my powder room - I think it's the perfect place for a fun pattern. Will update what I decide to go with!!
Do it! I'm planning on it...and it is gutsy for me as well. ;)
Love wallpaper in a bathroom. I think it especially worry free if it's a powder room.
you should definitely do it! I wallpapered our guest bathroom and am so happy I did, its such a fun pattern that I wouldn't have done any where else.
Yes...YES. Whad'ya have to loose?
powder room--yes. Bathroom you actually use a lot--no. (but would stencil!) I remember how our '70s wallpaper peeling drove me crazy!
I love bold wall paper in a bathroom. Go for it!

Oh it would sure be fun! How often are you in there? It might take a while for you to change your mind.
Thanks for your sweet comment yesterday, Donna :)
you can do it!
Absolutely! Looks uber posh! Xo

Why be chicken - go for it! How long could it take anyway?
(though I like the dark gray lacquer idea...)
Why not?! You only live once...if you like it so much when you see it in other homes, Im sure you would love it in yours!

Definitely do it! Love that paper... and that upholstered console table is pretty fantastic too
Do it. Perfect place to take the plunge.
This is a change for me - who mostly says yes to everything - I am now saying no!
Don't do it in a full bath room. Keep it more neutral for resale value. (Plus you might get tired of it soon). But in a tiny powder room yes!
Warm hugs to you my friend,
Mon
Wallpapered powder rooms are super fun for guests. Don't wallpaper any bathroom you tend to take long, steamy showers in though...peeling disaster.
Surprise yourself...paper the ceiling in an outrageous print.
how can you not? all those fab paper choices.
if you will ... i will... xoxo
That pic really tempts me as well! LOVE your blog...xxoo
Do it! It's crazy beautiful!!! Love the black door too!!
Best, Connie

Absolutely! Wallpaper is easy to change if you want it bad enough :)
But I guarentee you're going to love it. It will be smokin hot!
oh yes. very much so. i'd love to see what you would choose. it could be quite delicate. x
Do it and check out the book "HotHouse", there is a beautiful large scale gray paper. You'd love it!
I'm to chicken too to use such a bold print, I copped out with grasscloth...lol.
When you are done, then come be my guest and paper my new powder room....I am thinking a punchy paper like that or black glass tile....
pve
i did that in the powder room in my old house and it was fabulous! I say go for it!!!!
ps..thanks for stopping by.. it's been hectic with my dad's health etc.... i posted new today..
Have a Great Day!!!
Ok Donna that was just plain mean.....lol, send some of that heat up here please!
Debra,
I am just getting ready to do a paper images treatment to my guest bath. Have dreamed of the dayI could tear into a Cabinet of National Curiosities Book and Modge Poge them to the wall. That could happen...
Go for it!!!!!!!!!!
Okay, time to step outside the cozy box - LET'S DO DIS!!

Yes, yes, yes!!!
Remember that great episode where Lucy and Vivian wallpaper?
If they could go for you can too!
As long as you don't get a lot of steam...I know of several mishaps ...my own and friends where it peals of the wall.

do it do it do it! the worst thing that will happen is that you hate it and try something else -- and that's harmless!
I agree! Wallpapered bathrooms feel so luxurious.
I absolutely love a small space with fun wallpaper. In my head, I've decorated my entry that I don't own in the house that I don't own with fun wallpaper that I don't own...
