ghost chair

kml design

I've always loved the louis ghost chair but never thought I'd have one. I can't tell you how happy I was to be the winner of a Wayfair ghost chair giveaway hosted by {this is glamorous}. Beyond happy, really. It's the perfect thing to mix with my more traditional things - you know I'm dying to mix up my look.....

my chair!

Ever wondered if these chairs are comfortable? They are!  I'll probably use mine with a mix of chairs in the dining room.

the ghost gets it's skin on...

Sometimes ghost chairs are shown with a skin rug; I really don't know why....but I have one, so here you go...

I feel so crazy lucky. Thanks so much, {this is glamorous}, you beautiful blog, you,
 and Wayfair!

in case you're wondering...

yeah, I wish...

I am wearing around the 'soft fondant centers' of a dozen or so cadbury easter eggs.

I promised myself I'd start exercising and eating better the monday after easter.

...until I discovered the half price easter candy at the grocery...

with a little luck I'll be back posting decor tomorrow...

thanks for comin' through for me...!

I can't thank you all enough for your thoughtful advice on changing up my more formal dining room. We use it every day, so I am yearning for a little more casual feel. You left so many good comments...some of your great advice included upholstered/slip covered or painted chairs, and mixing in modern art and fresh accessories. Monika from Splendid Willow even sent me this image which I love. While this dining room contains many traditional elements,  it has a very fresh feel.  And look! It has just the things you all recommended: slip covered chairs and a fresh grouping of artwork and accessories. See...you all are downright decor geniuses and should be charging a lot of coin for your advice...

style changes...

I really want to change my dining room up to be more casual, like this one. I'd mix up the chairs a little more...

My dining room table is very much like this one, and my chairs are exactly like these. I'm dying to break out of my 'too traditional' mold. I think my style has evolved from formal to more relaxed. Or would that be 'devolved'...?

I need some serious advice here....should I trade out my traditional pieces for a more casual mix? And here's the biggie: will I regret it later?  Does anyone else out there have these yearnings?

crazy about this place...

savor your home

I'm tickled to be visiting today with Tiffany of Savor Home. Tiffany and I instantly bonded when she told me she, like my husband, is a CPA. They both have a few long days ahead until April 15th.

Please visit me today at Savor Home where I am giving a few sneak peaks at my own home.

Thanks for having me, Tiffany.

be a light...

hugs to you, sarah...

amen...

I'm passing along these words from my friend Brock Street, because when I read them on his blog, I couldn't forget them...

"why, oh why am i always on the prowl for inspiration. is it because i cannot find satisfaction in my own surroundings? is it because i am not grateful for all the blessing? these are the questions i ask myself often...as if my thirst is never quenched.

i must confess the above is far from the truth. i simply am addicted to dreaming and creating and living a bit outside of my reality. aspire...not for more or better or even beauty...just an enormous appreciation...."

My thanks to Brock Street for putting into words what I could not.
