ahhhhh....

have a wonderful weekend!

consoles

I have an eye for console tables right now. Since I bought those rattan chairs for my enclosed side porch, I have a great space for a console table. It will be protected from the weather, so I'm not limited there.

These are some stylish ones I grabbed from pinterest...

I'm crazy...

...for this Ikea gray-tone rattan chair. I had my eye on it for a while then tried it in my nearest store. Comfy! So I bought two for my porch. It's a great (and affordable) alternative to those harder to find kubu chairs.

Check out this chair and my other Ikea picks in my June Ideabook on Houzz.

Don't miss the (fairly) new blog Tone on Tone.  Loi Thai features all original images of his lovely home and D.C. area antique shop, Tone on Tone.

It's a must, gray lovers!

Congratulations to Anna Jones, winner of The Collage Workbook by Randel Plowman!

Many thanks to Randel for continued inspiration and for this gracious giveaway.

Have a great weekend....donna

Morocco

Glad to have my son back safe and sound from Spain and Morocco. And according to him, images like these differ wildly from the real Morocco.

Still, if given half a chance, I'd be there with a minute's notice...

The Collage Workbook Giveaway!

by Randel Plowman

By now it's clear that I'm nuts for the collage work of Randel Plowman. I discovered his pieces on his popular site A Collage A Day where, for the past six years, Randel has been creating - you guessed it - a collage a day.  If you've been following me for a while, you'll remember that I've featured his unique collage pieces and images of his studio. I really like his style.

I was thrilled that Randel recently offered a signed copy of his new book, The Collage Workbook, as a giveaway on a perfect gray. Now, I'm gonna be honest, here. I really don't want to part with this book. It's packed with great ideas and techniques on making collages and it even contains an image library that can easily be copied and used in your own collages.

This is a great book - full of inspiring images of Randels work plus tips for your own pieces.

My sincere thanks to Randel for offering this giveaway.

For a chance to win the book, just leave a comment to this post. You must provide a link to your name and e-mail address if you have a blog, and if not, leave your name and e-mail address in the comment. One winner will be drawn. The contest will close Friday, June 22, 2012 at noon EST.
Good luck!

where I wanna be today

a gray-toned kitchen

this beautiful gray-tone kitchen is well stocked, isn't it?
I'm yearning for some open shelving like this...

change, change is gonna do you good...

and later

Some folks are perfectly good with furnishing a home once and for all. And that's ok...just not for us design/decor-types, right?

Gotta change. Gotta re-do. Gotta re-fresh.
ALL THE TIME.

As I stumble over paint cans and recently moved furniture, I have to wonder how many of us are so afflicted? Is it a blessing? or a curse? After all, the only constant in my house is change; and that
creates a little chaos.

How about you? how often do you need a little (or a lot) of freshness?

I'm really enjoying my new master bath.  It's not a large space but it's just my style. As a matter of fact, I am really beginning to appreciate stylish, smaller spaces more and more.
These are a few of the small things in my small space that I really love.

I'm going there...

My son leaves for Spain and Morocco in just a few days.
 Am I jealous? Nahhh.
I'm going there, too.
Even if it is only via Pinterest.
