Emily Henderson of HGTV's Secrets From a Stylist used Benjamin Moore's Smoke Embers (No. 1466) in Ian Brennan's living room,

Benjamin Moore's Gray Owl (2137-60) in the guest room,

via HGTV and Emily's blog The Brass Petal

and a charcoal gray grasscloth in Ian's den/office.

Emily is funny, fresh, and terrific at putting together an 'undecorated' looking space.
But all that pales next to the fact that:

her loves some gray!

a new angle...

Thanks to Emilies Interior for the link

I have been in love with that second photo for a long time but had not seen the first one. I was delighted to see more of that room. What do you think of the pages-covered wall and door?

Love this simple, clean and white look today.
Tomorrow, who knows? Maybe a wildly colorful boho look....

new grays from the September issues...

Being a mirror gal, I love the antiqued mirror fireplace surround with the starburst layered on top.

Ryan Korban in Lonny, September, 2010

Besides mirrors and gray, nude art pieces have my heart, so I love this image. The vintage tea pot is just the touch alongside the modern lamps. A stunning 'silver' gray effect.

Awesome art piece in charcoal tones.

something a little different for the bath...

from Remodelista via Bien Cuit

...corrugated metal.  Perfect for that edgy loft/weekend lake house/artist's studio. And what about that mix in the last image? Corrugated metal, crystal chandelier and ruffled shower curtain....

it just says, 'home'...

Per Gunnarsson Photography

For years I'd come across a particular tear sheet from a decor magazine and say to myself, "Why did I save this one?"

Finally, I realized I was drawn to the shoes in the picture, casually tossed beneath a bench. And they weren't just any shoes; it was a pair of tennis shoes just like my husband used to wear. So to me, the image said 'home.' Now, whenever I see a picture of a room that happens to have shoes in it, I am always drawn to it. Such a nice, homey touch...
